Helmet computational modelling: We have developed high-fidelity finite element models of helmet concepts and used them to predict the performance of the helmet under oblique impact conditions. We used the high-fidelity Imperial College finite element model of brain injury biomechanics to predict brain response under impacts. These results helped manufacturers shape the next steps of their design, without having to build expensive physical prototypes.
Brain simulations: we used brain modelling to compare the performance of helmets with and without add-on solutions. We used the high-fidelity Imperial College finite element model of brain injury biomechanics for this project. We produced high-quality videos for the clients, which clearly show the difference in brain response for the helmets with and without the technologies.
